The Music Therapy Guy Turns One!

Posted: July 26, 2011 in Music Therapy

That’s right, it was one year ago today that I started this little blog.  It was my first day on the job, so that means I’ve also lasted a year in my current position.  I just wanted to mark the occasion with a post, my 89th since I began.  I set out with the goal to post at least once a week, which I’ve mostly been able to keep up with.  I know I missed a few weeks, but I’m obviously over average, so I’ve been doing OK.  It’s been good for me to be able to share some of my successes and challenges, but it’s also been a good way for me to explore some concepts that I’ve been thinking about.  Also, I’ve enjoyed sharing the YouTube Friday stuff.

As for the job, I started out with a lot of trepidation about what was coming.  I’m looking back now and I think I’ve learned a lot in the last year, and have really gotten a lot more comfortable with working in the business world.  It was a slow build getting my client load up during the first six months or so, but it’s now gotten to the point where we have a waiting list and are looking to hire another music therapist.  Very exciting.

I’m not going to harp on about this very long.  Just wanted to say thanks for reading, and thanks to those of you who have left me comments – it’s nice to know that more than just my wife and parents read the blog!  Here’s to another year!
